Following the release of Leica’s Q2 Monochrom—a 47-megapixel piece designed to shoot black and white imagery—the German camera and lens manufacturer has put out its latest proposal to the market. The SL2-S camera is a full-frame device built to capture timeless moments via still photography and captivating motion pictures.

The camera is touted as the brand’s most versatile photo and video camera to-date. It features 24 megapixels, 4K 60 fps video, ISOs of up to 100,000, continuous burst rates of up to 25 frames per second at full resolution, laser quick autofocus, in-body image stabilization, all encased in an all-metal build. 

For videography, the camera shoots 10-bit 4:2:2 videos with frame rates of up to 60 fps. Additionally, its LUTs (lookup tables), provide consumers with full control over color quality and post-processing grading while recording, and it features unlimited video recording time meaning that length is only limited by the user’s SD card/external storage capacity.

The pricing of the product is not naive by all means. The SL2-S is available for purchase at authorized Leica dealers for $4,895, which is still a noticeable decline in price from its flagship $5,995 mirrorless 47-megapixel SL2 camera.
